In scenes reminiscent of a hundred year old tradition, The Nelson Morris Dancers visited The Nelson Saturday Market giving fascinated patrons a display of traditional Cotswold dances. Patrons enthusiastically took up the invitation to take part in a ‘Circle dance’.

The Nelson Troupe also specialises in Dark Moon Morris Dancing harking back to the Scottish/British Borderlands.

Following their Market performance the troupe then headed off to The Woods Retirement Home where they performed in both the Hospital Wing and the Resident’s Recreation area. The dancers were particularly happy to perform in front of a 106 year old resident who had been a Morris Dancer in the 1930′s.
