Visitor Information: ORANGE TRAFFIC LIGHT

What does this mean for visitors to the Nelson Market?

The Government has mandated the South Island as Orange
under the Traffic Light system.

That means The Nelson Market and other farmers markets may open with capacity limits based on 1-metre distancing. If you are intending to visit the Nelson Market, here’s what you need to do:

  • All market visitors must scan in to the Nelson Market.
  • All visitors must wear a face covering at all times.
  • It is a requirement that visitors scan each stallholder’s individual QR scan code to keep a record of their visit.
  • Numbers allowed in to the Market will be managed to ensure people may keep a 1 metre distance from other visitors.
  • Any negative behaviour or non-compliance by visitors will be  reported to the Nelson Market Office onsite with appropriate action taken.

We welcome visitors and thank you for your compliance.  With your coopration  we are in a good position to be able to continue to hold the Nelson Market each Saturday.

Thank you
Nita Knight, Jason Knight and the Nelson Market team.

Stallholders Information: ORANGE TRAFFIC LIGHT

Starting on Friday, 3rd Dec 21, NZ moves to the COVID-19 Protection Framework (Traffic light system) and the introduction of scanning My Vaccine Pass at certain businesses.

What does this mean for being a stallholder at the Nelson Market?

The government mandate states that market retailers, such as The Nelson Market,  are not required to ask stallholders to scan your My Vaccine Pass at any traffic light level.

Therefore we will continue to welcome all stallholders;  however, to ensure the safety of our team and our market visitors, we require that anyone setting up a stall follow these rules;

  • All stallholders must wear a face covering.
  • It is a requirement that you have an individual QR scan code at your stall to keep a record of your customers and ask them to scan the QR code or complete a paper record.
  • We encourage all vaccinated stallholders to display a visible sign stating their vaccination status to help customers feel safe.
  • Please keep 1m distance from people outside your stall when you are moving around the market.
  • We recommend that you ask customers to stand 1m back from your stall whilst waiting to be served, to prevent crowding.
  • Cash will be accepted, but preference is for contactless payments.

A huge thank you to all of our stallholders who have had to continually adapt to the requirements with kindness and understanding.

Thank you
Nita Knight, Jason Knight and the Nelson Market team.
