You can list your products in the Products section, add images, prices and product details.
There is no limit on how many products you can add. We do require all products to be accurately photographed and detailed, and to meet NZ Labelling and Fair Trading compliance laws.
The Nelson Market pricing for stall holders is made up of three cost components:
- Nelson Market annual online-stallholder fee $49.99 (invoiced yearly)
- Nelson Market per-transaction fee 1.25%
- Stripe Connect per-transaction fee 2.9% + $0.30c
TOTAL: 4.15 % + $0.30c per transaction
Yes and No.
No you do not need a special bank account. The website payment system will settle your funds from sales into your existing bank account be that ANZ, BNZ – any NZ account.
However, stall holders will need to open a new Stripe account, if you don’t already have one, when they agree to a Nelson Market online stall.
A Stripe account is necessary to become part of our Stripe multi-vendor system. The website processes credit card payments using StripeConnect and your Stripe individual account will connect to the StripeConnect multi-vendor shopping system.

The process to establish your own Stripe account is straightforward. There is no set up fee to do this, or monthly account fees. Stripe accounts are free to set up.

The Stripe transaction fee: 2.9% + $0.30c NZD
Nelson Market transaction fee: 1.25%

Stripe example: A bottle of Olive Oil sells for $28.00 (GST inclusive)
$28 minus 4.15 % = $1.16 leaves $26.84
$26.84 minus .30 cents = $26.54
Compare this with PayPal NZ 3.4% + $0.45 per transaction
PayPal example: A bottle of Olive Oil sells for $28.00 (GST inclusive)
$28 minus 3.4 % = $ 0.95 leaves $27.05
$27.05 minus .45 cents = $26.60
Whilst Stripe is currently 6c more per transaction than PayPal there are

You certainly can. Some of our businesses simply wish to be featured on our website to sign-post their presence at the local physical market, and that’s fine. The annual fee applies in either case whether you are selling products online or looking to profile your business locally.
nelsonmarket.co.nz uses Stripe as its payment system. Stripe will process the e-commerce payment, deduct the per transaction fee, and settle the bulk of the funds into your stall-holder Stripe account. Settlement of funds is within 24 hours of a sale.
